Modern Video Surveillance for High-Stakes Gaming Environments

As gaming operations expanded in Cripple Creek, MHSS delivered a unified video surveillance solution designed to keep casino floors secure, compliant, and running without interruption.

The Challenge

Operating a casino environment requires constant visibility across gaming floors, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. At Bronco Billy’s Casino, the existing video system was no longer sufficient to support expanding operations or capture the level of detail needed for investigations and daily security oversight. At the same time, Full House Resorts was opening the adjacent Chamonix Casino Hotel and needed a modern, scalable surveillance solution from day one.

Both properties also faced strict Colorado gaming regulations, including continuous recording in gaming areas and mandated video retention timelines. Meeting these requirements meant supporting hundreds of cameras and storing large volumes of footage without risking downtime or compliance violations. Failure to meet these standards could result in penalties, reputational damage, or operational disruption.

MHSS was brought in to help modernize surveillance at Bronco Billy’s and design a compliant, future-ready system for the new Chamonix Casino Hotel.

The Solution

Mile High Security Solutions designed and implemented a unified video surveillance platform across both casino properties using Avigilon Unity technology. The solution combined high-resolution cameras, AI-powered analytics, centralized video management, and enterprise-grade storage to deliver complete visibility across indoor and outdoor areas.

A mix of dome, bullet, fisheye, and multisensor cameras was strategically deployed to monitor casino floors, entrances and exits, hotel spaces, staff areas, perimeters, and parking facilities. Advanced analytics enhanced situational awareness while supporting faster response to safety, security, and gaming-related incidents.

To meet Colorado gaming compliance requirements, MHSS engineered a robust video storage architecture using network video recorders and video archiving technology, providing more than 600 terabytes of secure, scalable storage. This ensured required footage retention while maintaining system reliability and uptime.

The Result

The upgraded surveillance system significantly improved operational awareness and investigative capabilities across both casino properties. Security teams gained clearer visibility into gaming activity, public safety concerns, and day-to-day operations, enabling faster incident review and response.

The solution also strengthened compliance with state gaming regulations by ensuring continuous recording and reliable long-term video retention. High-quality footage supports internal investigations, jackpot verification, and collaboration with gaming regulators and local law enforcement when needed.

With expanded camera coverage and advanced analytics, the casinos have reduced losses, improved accountability, and enhanced the overall guest experience — all while maintaining system reliability in a demanding, always-on environment.

"I can’t give the Avigilon solution high enough marks. The product is great, but so too is the service. It’s been outstanding and we haven’t suffered any system outages, even during adverse weather, which can cause systems to go down."
